KVCR Autism Initiative

According to the CDC, Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability.

KVCR Autism Initiative launched in 2009 to inform the general public, provide educational resources to educators, first responders, and medical professionals, and produce series of programs and national documentaries.

With our past success and our partnership with Inland Empire Autism Society, we will continue to provide educational opportunities, raise awareness and garner funding to produce local television and radio segments and documentaries.

Funding provides outreach materials and seed funding for local and national television and radio Autism related productions.

Our community partner is Inland Empire Autism Society http://www.ieautism.org

December Holiday Family Activities

As part of the KVCR Autism Initiative we’re sharing information about holiday activities for those living with autism and their family and friends. Western U invites the public to attend an Educational Forum about animal therapy on Saturday, December 2 at 9:30. The day includes holiday arts and crafts.

On Sunday, December 3 the Autism Society Inland Empire will host a holiday event at Sky High Sports in Mira Loma with giant trampolines, holiday crafts and snacks. Santa is scheduled to visit both events.

Ways to Get Involved

Host An Event
KVCR offers several ways for your business to support Autism and create awareness. Below are some ideas that we have done in the past, and we would be more than willing to help your business participate in these.

Coloring for the Future of Autism
An event your business can participate, your buisness would offer your customers an opportunity to purchase a puzzle piece for $1. They can color the piece or select a pre-colored puzzle piece. We will provide your business with the puzzle pieces and a box of crayons or markers.
Each puzzle piece would be placed on the wall of your business during the month of April, National Autism Awareness Month.

Color the Bar Night
Color the Bar Night is a special night to support autism awareness with live music. On this night your business would donate a percentage of each pint sold would be donated to autism awareness.
